Who Are We?
The co-founders of Taylor & Taylor Family Resource Center Inc. are childhood friends and natives of Carroll County who had a dream to give back to the community in which they grew up. Elveta and Angel graduated from West Carroll High School in 1992. Both graduated in the top ten of their class and Elveta was the Salutatorian.
Elveta Taylor Cooper received her BBA and MBA in Accounting from Middle Tennessee State University. She has been employed with UPS for 20 years. Elveta is a recipient of the 2009 Volunteer Service Award from President Obama. She is also a wife and mother of a beautiful daughter. When asked "Why Non-Profit?" " I was a Loaned Executive to the United Way of Metropolitan Nashville for their 2005 campaign season. During these short 3 months, I was responsible for visiting several non-profit organizations and working with companies to raise money to help United Way focus on what matters. I witnessed many things that made me realize how blessed I truly am. The whole experience taught me a profound lesson," I am blessed only to be a blessing to others".
Angel Taylor Carter received her BBA in Business Administration from Middle Tennessee State University and Masters in Education from Trevecca Nazarene University. For 12 years she worked in the Non-Standard Auto Industry. She made a career change and is employed as a 1st-grade teacher. She is a wife and mother of two sons. When asked, "Why Non-Profit?" "I believe in leveling the playing field. Everyone should have the opportunity to receive information and training that betters their lives and community. We, as Christians, are the only Bible many people will ever read therefore we must live our lives doing unto others as you would have them do unto you."

Dr. Lawanda Jenkins Dr. Lawanda Jenkins grew up in the Trezevant community and currently resides in Nashville, TN. Lawanda works in the mental health field. She has been very instrumental in our T.A.P.S. program. She did a series on Stress and it's effects on the mind and body. In her free time she is basketball coach for her son's team.
Teri Powell: Teri Powell grew up in the Trenton community and currently resides in Nashville, TN. She is the founder of In The Meantime, a non profit organization created to provide temporary lodging, meals and supportive assistance to patients and caregivers seeking short term medical care in Nashville Hospitals.
Candy Taylor: Candy Taylor grew up in the Trezevant community and currently resides in the Atlanta area. Candy works for McCormick in Atlanta. Candy has been very involved in the development of TTFRC. Her objectiveness and listening ear kept the dream of TTFRC moving toward reality.
TTFRC is blessed to have these wonderful people on their board.
